The hull has enough buoyancy that she can easily carry up to 4 tons on her deck, be it cargo or passengers – this is four times as much as many other Catamarans of her size on the market.
The StormCat 950 offers the ultimate freedom to enjoy limitless time at sea without any compromise on comfort - even in rough seas while the other boats head home, the StormCat can stay out for as long as you choose.
With 3 water tight compartments in each hull, a highly stable, 13 foot beam, and a collision bulkhead built into the bow to protect the boat and its passengers in the case of a collision, she is exceptionally safe. She is fitted with two engines, making her highly manoeuvrable, and each engine has independent fuel and battery systems, so should one system fail, the other can continue safely.
Because of the size and shape of the hull, she sits on a cushion of aerated water, which virtually eliminates slamming in heavy seas, and she can plane at as low as 14 knots, making her incredibly smooth and comfortable as well as economical to run. Her shallow draft enables her to be driven on to the beach for passengers to disembark straight on to the shore from a ladder. This feature allows greater freedom for exploring areas inaccessible by road.
Built to Lloyds Special Service Craft Rules using the highest quality materials, the StormCat 950 conforms to RCD category C or B. She comes complete with fully fitted kitchen, Queen sized bed, shower and bathroom facilities, office space and single bed, and is stylishly fitted throughout with high spec teak decking, 316 polished Stainless Steel and GRP moulded interiors.
All furnishings and accessories are beautifully finished in teak, the interior is lined throughout with mottle shell foam backed material, and there are bolster cushions in the bedroom and ensuite. The console houses a state of the art electronics package and is built around the helmsman for comfort, dynamics and ease of use.
The flybridge is fitted with an A frame for navigation lights, remote control search light, GPS radar and VHF aerials, and the purpose built console, with additional seating for three, replicates the controls below. All controls to the engine boast the most up to date flyby wire technology expected from such a high performance vessel. In the water she cruises at 24 knots and has a sprint speed of 37 knots.
